Dear Senior Parents,
As the first semester is winding down, we know there are many emotions and things to take care of for this senior year. The following is to help make some of the requirements easier to achieve.
Chapter 74 of the Education Code for Graduation Requirements requires all graduating seniors to complete and submit the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Application for Financial Aid Assistance for college/career tech school.
Seniors will begin this process in English 4 classes on Friday, November 15 by creating an account and FSA ID.
On December 9th during the school day, we have a Scholarship 101 Session planned for seniors, as well.
A FAFSA night for parents and students will take place in January to assist with the completion of the application process.
Please click the link below for more information concerning FAFSA timelines.

If you do not want your senior to complete the FAFSA, there is an Opt-out form that must be completed and signed before graduation. Please contact Susan Schmidt, sschmidt@itascaisd.net.

Yesterday our FFA Chapter had two teams compete in a build off and welding skill competition in Marietta Oklahoma. Students had 6 hours to build a picnic table frame based on the blueprints we made prior to the contest, complete a welding knowledge exam and take a tool ID test. We are extremely proud of our students and how well they did competing in our first ever build-off contest. - We also made several appearances on their local news channel which I have linked below for those who would like to watch. / https://www.kxii.com/2024/11/08/students-put-their-welds-test-3rd-annual-marietta-welders-rodeo/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR2sTvyzPVwmQlS9lw7Iwi94P5EmVFGKyFPHrIclV5nujsIEzbZykLyKpqc_aem_7_N6N0QJ9xeTl5yVuj1v4A
